The Studio
Alvarez Design Studio is an Atlanta-based residential interior design firm — with satellite studios in Brooklyn and Miami, founded by creative director, Ignacio Alvarez, in 2018. The studio is made up of a small, easy-going, team of four, where Ignacio oversees each project from concept to installation and styling. ADS provides a variety of design services and believes in collaborating directly with each client — alongside vendors, architects, GC’s and all trades involved in the design process. The team is well-versed in conceptual development, space planning, selecting materials and sourcing FF&E, as well as in the preparation of all documents required on all phases of a project.
Founder & Creative Director
Ignacio Alvarez is a Mexican-born interior designer and honors graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a major in Interior Design and a minor in Architectural History. He also earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Contemporary Visual Art, while abroad in Barcelona, Spain.
In the seven years prior to his own studio launch, Ignacio was based in New York City, where he worked at globally acclaimed firms: MAWD, Jeffrey Beers International, and Marie Christine Design. In his most senior role at MAWD, he spearheaded the interior design and project management for several high-profile clients and large scale multi-family condominiums. Most recently, Ignacio led the team at MAWD to complete the interior design for Lantern House in New York: its public amenity spaces, the multi-million dollar units, its sales center, and its model residence — architecture by world-renowned Thomas Heatherwick and developer Related Companies. Other notable work includes: a private residence in TriBeCa — architecture by Morris Adjmi, a private residence in Polanco, a 5-star hotel property in New York, and private residences in New York and Los Angeles for confidential high-net-worth and celebrity profiles.
Ignacio currently works and resides in Atlanta, Georgia where he shares a home with his dog, Ford.
Director of Interior Design
Ligia Cisneros is an honors graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Interior Design. A corporate alum of Perkins + Will and Clima Home, her experience includes luxury residential, hospitality, workplace design, and sales— where she managed large international brand accounts— focusing on high-end furniture, for both interior and exterior applications.
Ligia brings a fresh light and a bold vision to ADS through her meticulous sensibilities to color, texture, and pattern. Her design methodology allows her to think across multiple, complex platforms, that in turn perfectly balance any given project.
Ligia currently works and resides in Miami, Florida. Her favorite objects are almost always chartreuse in color.
